Experimenting with AutoCAD Map 3D Workspaces

For those who want to experiment or create a custom workspace, start out with a copy of an existing one.

First select


In the CUI select an existing Workspace Right–Click and Duplicate


Next select the duplicate and right-click to rename it. Set the new workspace current . Now you are ready to Explore and Experiment.

Clean Install for Civil 3D 2011

As most of you are familiar with the famous “CLEAN INSTALL”, the procedure has changed with the 2011 release.  Instead of uninstalling Civil 3D and being done with it, you must execute uninstallation in a specific order.  There are 3 different entries in the Add/Remove programs that must be uninstalled in the order listed below:

1.  Autodesk Material Library 2011 Base Image Library

2.  Autodesk Material Library 2011

3.  Autcad Civil 3D 2011

Removing or renaming folder via Project Manager, only changes how those folders are seen in the Project Manager. if you want the changes to happen on the actual disk folder you must do the rename or delete from Windows Explorer.
