Autodesk Infrastructure Modeler 2013 R2

October 10, 2012

Autodesk has released a new version of Infrastructure Modeler 2013.  This version gives you the ability to put scenarios on AIM 360, which allows you to open in a web browser or a mobile device.  This version is only available to Subscription customers.

You must uninstall the previous version of AIM in order to install the R2 version.  Also, keep in mind that anything that was created prior to R2 will prompt you to update your database or make a copy.  Once you update the database, you will not be able to open it in a previous version.

2013 UCS Rotating Itself

June 18, 2012

I am getting more and more calls on this issue.  I’m not sure if this is exclusive to Civil 3D yet.  The only calls I have received so far is that this issue is in Civil 3D.

When switching from Paper Space to Model Space, the UCS will rotate by itself.  This also happens when you save, get out of the drawing and then open it back up.

This seems to only happen when there is a saved view in the drawing.  Others might experience it without having a saved view.  I had this happen to me the other day.  I unknowingly had a saved view in the drawing, which I never used, and this issue happened.

1.  Delete the saved view(s), save drawing, close, re-open.

2.  Go to the View tab, switch to Top view, save, close, re-open.

I have found the culprit.

Browse to your Windows Control Panel…Start Menu>Control Panel.  If you use Category view, select Uninstall a Program.  If you use, Large or Small Icons, select Programs and Features.

Scroll down until you see Microsoft Visual C++2010…
