DGNPURGE is Now Part of 2015

June 5, 2014

How many of you are familiar with a couple of lines in a drawing and the drawing file size being EXTREMELY large?

I know a few of your are familiar with this because I sent you instructions on how to use the DGNPurge hotfix.  However, this hotfix is only for 2012/2013/2014.

It is now incorporated into the PURGE and –PURGE commands; it’s new name is Orphaned Data.

Corrupt Drawing?

September 9, 2010

This morning I found a great blog post on Troubleshooting Corrupt Drawings by Autodesk’s Justin Ziemba. The blog explains how drawings get corrupted and ways to keep drawings from getting corrupted.  I get many calls about this weekly.

To add to this, Autodesk’s Tom Stoeckel posted a blog on Managing Regapp IDs, which can cause drawing corruption.

Thanks again to these two guys for taking the time to outline this issue.  It seems like more and more calls come in daily about drawing corruption because of going back and forth between different releases of Autodesk products (namely Civil 3D).
